Information Evening for Parents & Carers of a Child with Additional Learning Needs

For parents and carers of a child with additional learning needs who is starting Year 7 in 2025.

‘Discover CMCB’ Days: Monday 6 to Friday 10 May 2024

‘Discover CMCB’ sessions allow 2024 Grade 6 students to visit CMCB on a regular school day and experience life as a Year 7 student at the Coolock Campus (Years 7 – 9). Sessions are two hours, starting at either 9.30am or 12.30pm.

• For families with students at a Catholic primary school, this will be arranged directly with your child’s school.
• For families from other schools, Mrs Audra Petri, College Registrar, will be in contact to arrange your child’s attendance at a ‘Discover CMCB’ session.

WHAT TO BRING 

• Students should wear sport uniform
• Small bag or backpack with a drink bottle and snack
• Pencil case with a pen and pencil
• Any child with a critical medical condition (e.g. Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Diabetes, Epilepsy etc) must bring their current Action Plan and relevant medication

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Session 1 (9:30-11:30am): 2 hours

• 9.30-9.55am: Welcome
• 9.55-10.40am: Activity (one of PE/STEAM/Music/Art)
• 10.45-11.15am: Tour
• 11.15-11.30am: Farewell Gathering (questions and goodbyes)
• 11.30am: Depart

Session 2 (12:30-2:30pm): 2 hours

• 12.30-12.55pm Welcome
• 12.55-1.25pm: Tour
• 1.30-2.15pm: Activity (one of PE/STEAM/Music/Art)
• 2.15-2.30pm: Gathering (questions and goodbyes)
• 2.30pm: Depart

Open House is full of engaging information for Grade 6 students to enjoy and grow in confidence about starting secondary school. Through virtual tours, videos, handy tips and FAQs, families will discover their future as a CMCB student.
