Principal’s Update

The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) results, which were released on Thursday 12 December, gave the College reason to celebrate.

Our students have been rewarded for their endeavours, with some outstanding collective and individual performances in both the VCE and VCAL studies.

I am delighted to announce that the Catherine McAuley College Dux for 2019 is Samuel Angove, with an ATAR of 99.6.

The Dux Proximus is Blaze Houlden with an ATAR of 97.75, followed by Ruby Kane with an ATAR of 97.7.

Whilst the focus is often on the high-achieving students, it is important to recognise the great work done by all students in Year 12. In our commitment to service in the Mercy tradition, we believe that our results offer a range of pathways, and we celebrate not only the excellent results achieved by our VCE students, but also the students who completed their Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) with an outstanding pass rate. This will open doors for them to many pathways.

Mr Brian Turner, Principal

May the love of God be born through us this Christmas, so that a bright star may once again emerge, bringing HOPE and PEACE into our fragile world.

The God of hope, who brought love into this world,

is the love that dwells between us.

The God of hope, who brought peace into this world,

is the peace that dwells between us.

The God of hope, who brought joy into this world,

is the joy that dwells between us.

The God of hope, the rock we stand upon, be the centre,

the focus of our lives always.
