Presentation Evening 2019

12/12/2019

Our annual Presentation Evening was held on Thursday 12 December at the Marian Centre. Students from all year levels, their families and College staff gathered to celebrate academic achievements across all subjects as well as contributions to College Life encompassed in the Spirit of Catherine Award. The Spirit of Catherine Award recognise members of our community who epitomise the Mercy values and demonstrate Living Mercy in their words and actions.

Students who have achieved academic excellence were acknowledged across all subjects and year levels. There were also scholarships and special prizes in a range of categories which recognise high achievements or dedication by students.

The 2019 Outstanding Achievement Awards recognise students who have been successful at State or National level in co-curricular activities such as sport, arts, science and the many other activities our students are involved in during the year.

The Seeds of Justice Award, which is given in memory of Sarah Slattery to a Year 9 or 10 student who has shown the greatest commitment to social justice, was awarded to Grace Reading.

The Mercy Scholarship, which aims to foster leadership in Mercy tradition, is awarded to a student who exercises genuine concern for others less fortunate, who promotes school spirit and takes an active part in fundraising. This year’s recipient was Holly Jeffrey.

The Dux of the College was announced at the evening. Congratulations Samuel Angove who achieved an ATAR of 99.6. High achieving VCE, VET and VCAL students will be acknowledged at the Laureate Assembly in February 2020.
