Bus Travel Introduction

18/10/2021

Travel information for students attending Catherine McAuley College in 2022 is now available on our website and in the Parent Access Module (PAM) under Parent Resources – Bus Information.

Catherine McAuley College has four modes of transport available for students:

Country Bus Network- School Bus Management System

The Department of Education and Training – Bendigo School Bus Program provides approved students with the opportunity to travel to school on a country bus service that best meets their needs. These services are not public services.

These areas include Bridgewater, Maiden Gully, Marong, Lockwood, Elmore, Axe Creek, Heathcote, Sedgwick, Mandurang, Eppalock and some Strathfieldsaye areas (subject to PTV urban availability).

Please note all current Year 9 travellers transferring to St Marys will be required to do a new application in your existing SBMS account. Applications are now open and should be submitted by no later than Friday 3 December 2021.

Urban Bus Travel ( School Bus Specials)

Coolock Junortoun is serviced by a network of buses from all areas of Bendigo. Travel on these buses is paid by using the tap on tap off Myki card or by purchasing a student bus pass. These students are not eligible for Country Bus travel. The 2022 timetable is currently being reviewed and will be available on our website shortly, in the interim please refer to the current timetable on our website.

Castlemaine Bus Travellers

A direct service to and from Castlemaine and surrounds is available for our students. All families wishing to access this service are required to contact the Bus Coordinator Mrs Bekk Tyrrell to apply. All existing travellers are required to complete a new travel form for 2022.

CMC Charter Service

Catherine McAuley College will be introducing a NEW service in 2022. This service will be run directly by the College for students in the areas of Eppalock, Axe Creek, Mandurang, Sedgwick, Strathfieldsaye and Junortoun. This service will provide support to the already overloaded country services in these areas and allow a direct route to the Junortoun campus.

There will be limited spaces available in 2022 and not all mentioned service areas will be able to be accommodated but we will look to expand the services in 2023 and beyond. Students that are successful will only travel on this service and no longer eligible for the Country Service that they may be currently travelling on. Further information including an expression of interest form will be sent out to the community in the coming weeks. Please contact the bus coordinator for further information btyrrell@cmc.vic.edu.au.

If you require further information or assistance please contact the College Bus Coordinator Mrs Bekk Tyrrell on 54459100 or btyrrell@cmc.vic.edu.au
