Year 9 News – 19 June 2025

The Year 9 cohort have completed two of three sessions on Careers, Pathways and Subject Selection.  Staff from St Mary’s Campus have presented information around the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), Vocational Education and Training (VET) and School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT).

Students were given the opportunity to explore Career Tools https://careertools.com.au/ and gain their Unique Student Identifier (USI) number.  Students should use the following link: https://www.usi.gov.au/ to access their USI.

This week’s session focused on the different pathways people can travel to reach a goal.  Students have been asked to consider what they are interested in, how they like to learn, what they are good at and what they enjoy doing, to help guide them to different future options.

To support student thinking, throughout the West Wing are Career target posters that highlight career options and pathways. Students are encouraged to view and think about the many options available.
