Year 8 Students Create Short Films at Bendigo Tech

09/06/2023

In the past weeks, our Year 8 English students have participated in a digital storytelling program at Bendigo Tech School. The workshop provided students with a hands-on opportunity to work with professional video and audio equipment to learn the art of storytelling through multimedia. Through the story-boarding process and use of green screen technology, students produced a short film that explored a contemporary media issue, complementing their current English program which explores persuasive writing and speaking.

“When we first got to the tech school, we were amazed by all the things we saw. We walked in and our instructor Ember was great. In the school we learnt how to use a green screen and create quality videos. The cameras were great and could see everything. It was cool using the cameras and shooting videos. We had fun at the tech school. The best thing at the tech school was editing the video and when we finally saw our video in final form. We give it five out of 5 stars and would love to go back in future years.” (Mannix Grieve and Maurice Nihill)
