SCHOOL SPORT VICTORIA – SANDHURST DIVISION

Year 8 Boys Football

Game 1: CMC 13.8.86 to Crusoe College 0.0.0
In the first game, the Year 8s come up against a determined team from Crusoe College. The style of constant run and greater physical strength proved to be the winning formula for CMC. It was an impressive team effort all around with the midfield getting clearance after clearance and the backline staying strong, and not letting a single point past them. In the forward line Max Connick and Nick Harvey, both snagged themselves 3 goals which was a marvellous effort.

Game 2: CMC 9.6.60 to Marist 1.0.6
The second game was a domination by CMC against Marist College Bendigo. Josh Kelly starred as well as Aydan Hand who kicked 3 goals. They were explosive out of the middle and were able to lock it in their forward half. Nick Harvey took a fantastic mark halfway through the second half, lifting the team. The boys were able to win and progress to the game which would decide the winner of the day and who would continue on to Mildura.

Game 3: CMC 9.8.62 to BSE 2.5.17
The third and final game was the toughest game for CMC. The whole team gave their all, running all over Bendigo South East College as they ran out of legs. Max Connick stepped up in this game kicking 5 goals, in a brilliant display. CMC’s backline played exceptionally well: playing tight, working well together, getting speed on the ball running out of defence, and creating opportunities for the forwards. This great run-and-carry style play enabled the team to secure another win and bring home the Sandhurst Division Championship.

Thanks to Mr Mitch Winter-Irving and Mr Alex Coad for coaching the team, and to all the helpers who assisted on the day.
