Mid-term Achievements and Success

As we close in on the middle of Term 3, students have settled well into their new electives and are working hard in preparation for the Student-led Conferences on Wednesday 10 September.

This week, we are showcasing achievements in a variety of electives including Music, Food Technology and also the co-curricular Book Week dress-ups.

Book Week: Year 7 Highlights

During Book Week activities, our Year 7 students have participated strongly in all of the activities on offer and we were impressed to see many fantastic costumes on Friday.  Students dressed up as a range of well-known characters including Shrek, Tinker Bell and Wally from Where’s Wally?, just to name a few.

Mrs Bibby, got into the spirit of Book Week and clearly took out the “best dressed” award for the Year 7 staff!

Year 7 Music Elective

Students undertaking their music elective have been progressing well, learning how to play a new instrument, with many of the students playing a musical instrument for the first time.

Year 7 Food Technology Elective

Our Year 7 students have been putting their culinary skills to the test lately cooking corn fritters and mini choc chip muffins.  Having sampled some of their creations, we can give them the tick of approval for their wonderful efforts.

Year 7 Student Showcase Award Winners

Well done to Cooper Barker on his recognition of achievement for service to the College and congratulations also go out to Wren Vigor, Sophie Thorburn, Sienna Stratton and Isabelle Roberston for the academic growth they have demonstrated in Term 3.

Band Photos: Year 7 Members

A special well done to a number of Year 7 students who are members of the school band.  They have been rehearsing well throughout the year and this has paid dividends, culminating in fantastic performances in the recent CMCB Winter Concert and the Victorian Schools Music Festival Competition in Geelong.

Overall, our Year 7 students continue to impress in many areas within the College and, as we head towards the end of term, we encourage all students to strive to do their best at all times and finish the term well.
