Year 7 News – 11 September 2025

11/09/2025

Welcome to the final instalment of Year 7 updates for Term 3. It seems like the staff and students returned just a short while ago. However, students have packed a lot of learning into the term, which we will showcase, and students we finish this term on a high with our major fundraising event and celebration – Mercy Day!

Recognition of Achievement Awards

We continue to notice and acknowledge student achievements in their academic pursuits at CMCB.

Mercy Day Reminders

As this is our major fundraising event for the year, we ask that you kindly send your child with a chocolate or lolly bag that can be used for prizes on our spinning wheel activity.

If you prefer, you can donate your time to help out on one of our two stalls, either the Wheel of Fun or the Soft Drink Stand.

Every year level has two Mission Marts that they are responsible for. All students are asked to either donate their time running the Mission Mart on the day, or donate a prize.

Ideas for prizes:

  • Fun-size chocolate
  • Chocolate bars
  • Lollies

We also want to remind students that this day is one of celebration so we are hopeful that you will come dressed in your best costume in house colours.

Mr Evans doesn’t want to brag, but he believes that he was the best dressed member of staff last year when he appeared as a box of Tic Tacs!

Uniform Reminders

As students settle into the slightly warmer weather, it is a timely reminder that you continue to wear your full winter academic uniform on non-PE days. This includes your tie, blazer and black leather shoes. Wear it with pride! (Summer uniform can be worn from the first day back in Term 4 – don’t forget your hats.)

Season of Creation

These were some Canticles of Creation created by Year 7 students in Term 2.

Ceramics on Show

Artistic talents were on show in the ceramics room when students created amazing clay forms.
