Year 7 Girls play exceptional netball

SCHOOL SPORT VICTORIA – SANDHURST DIVISION

Year 7 Girls Netball

The Sandhurst Division Year 7 Girls Netball competition was held on Wednesday 25 May at the Golden City Netball Courts. It was a picture-perfect day for playing netball. Right from the warm-up, the students took charge, displaying independence and readiness for the day’s challenges.

Year 7B Team
The 7B team played three outstanding games in their pool. What set them apart was their sportsmanship, especially when faced with opponents who had inexperienced players. They showed great support and encouragement, making the event enjoyable for all participants.

Their exceptional performance led them to the finals, where they faced tough competition from Crusoe College. The grand final match was a true display of skill and determination. Lexi showcased her strength in the midcourt, tirelessly running and contributing throughout the game. Mia and Laila demonstrated remarkable passing skills, providing excellent support to the team’s goalers.
Emma’s consistency in shooting and Lexi J’s accurate shots throughout the day made it difficult for their opponents. Meanwhile, Charlotte, Aliza, and Milly proved to be formidable defenders, consistently getting their hands on the ball and disrupting the opposition’s attacks.

In the end, the Year 7B netball team emerged victorious, triumphing over Crusoe in a hard-fought final. Their exceptional teamwork, skill, and dedication were evident throughout the day, making them a formidable force on the court.

Congratulations to the Year 7B netball team on their impressive results. They displayed excellent sportsmanship and represented the school proudly, their future in netball looks incredibly promising.

Year 7A Team
The 7A netball team had an exceptional day as they dominated their opponents in a series of impressive victories.

In their first match against Weeroona College Bendigo, the Year 7A team demonstrated their skills on the court, securing a resounding 53-2 victory. Their outstanding shooting accuracy and strong defence proved too strong for their opposition.

Their dominance continued in the subsequent matches. Against Bendigo South East College, the team triumphed with an impressive score of 38-4, showcasing their ability to convert scoring opportunities and effectively control the game.

Crusoe College provided a more challenging match, but the girls rose to the occasion and emerged victorious with a score of 26-10. Their adaptability and tactical awareness enabled them to overcome the opposition’s resistance and secure another significant win.

The team’s remarkable performance extended to their matches against Girton Grammar School and Marist College Bendigo, with scores of 38-2 and 39-2 respectively. Their cohesive teamwork and willingness to chase the hard ball were evident throughout both matches.

Congratulations to the Year 7A netball team on their impressive victories. Their exceptional skills and teamwork have set a high standard for future competitions. The team will now progress to the LMR Final on 20 July.
