Year 7 Community in Action Day 2023

11/12/2023

On Monday 27 November, the Year 7s took part in a Community in Action Day. A day all about service and giving to our community. Overall, with the assistance of our wonderful Year 7 students and staff, we were able to achieve the following:

  • Preparation of over 70 dinners and portions of shortbread biscuits.
  • Packaging of 330 Grade 6 Orientation Day bags.
  • Creation of 20+ Share the Dignity bags.
  • Design of 64 activity books and 25 picture story books for primary school students.
  • Planning and implementation of cricket and netball clinics for primary school students.
  • Creation of over 120 christmas cards for Bethlehem residents.
  • Student assistance at the Foodshare farm.
  • Planning and creation of items during indigenous/cultural activities
  • Packing of 40 food hampers (over 300 kg of food)
  • The making of Christmas ornaments with Bethlehem residents.

Not only did the students walk away from the day with a strong feeling of achievement, but they left with a great deal of satisfaction knowing they had contributed well to their community.

Overall, the day and resultant achievements would not have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of staff and students. Well done to all involved.
