Year 7 Boys have strong football debut

Year 7 Boys Football
On Monday 5 May, the Sandhurst Division Year 7 Boys Football Competition was held at the Mercy Junortoun Sports Precinct. The team was eager to kick off their football campaign, and the boys were thrilled to finally wear the CMCB Football Jersey. With sunny skies and a perfect 25 degrees, the stage was set for a great day of competition.
Game 1
The boys kicked off the season in dominant fashion with a huge win over Crusoe College. Josh Prowse led the way up forward with 5 goals, while Tommy Harrop added 3 in a strong all-around performance. Gus Ritchie, Hamish Baker, Rex Edwards, Will Shadbolt, Jedd Mannix, and Jye MacDonald also hit the scoreboard.
Standouts included Tommy Harrop, Flynn Todd, Hamish Baker, Josh Prowse, and Gus Ritchie, with all players contributing to a great team win.

Game 2
Another strong performance with the boys taking control early and maintaining it throughout the game to record a solid win over Bendigo South East College. Up forward, Nash Campbell, Josh Prowse, and Tommy Harrop all booted 3 goals each, with support from Hamish Baker (2), Jedd Mannix, and Callen Harrington.
Best players on the day were Nash Campbell, Tommy Harrop, Jedd Mannix, Flynn Todd, and Henry Kleinert.

Game 3
A complete four-quarter effort saw the boys dominate Marist College Bendigo. A special highlight was Noah Khanthiyong kicking his first-ever goal in AFL – a fantastic moment! Tommy Harrop (5 goals) and Matthew Jennings (4) were on fire up forward, supported by Hamish Baker (4), Jimi Bortolotto (2), Jack Holland (2), and several others.
Best Players: Matthew Jennings, Tommy Harrop, Gus Ritchie, Will Tuddenham, Jack Holland.

Congratulations to all players on their fantastic win in the Sandhurst Competition. The team will now progress to the Loddon Mallee Final, which will be held in Swan Hill on Wednesday 30 July.
A huge thank you to Charles Neilson and Charlie Macumber for their efforts in umpiring the competition. Special mention also to Jason Kerr for his excellent goal umpiring, and to Quinlan Cody and Keelan McInerney for their support as team runners and water boys. Thank you also to Nate Thompson for taking on the scoring duties for the day. The team and staff truly appreciated all the support and help.
