Year 12 Social Justice Projects

03/11/2022

While on Year 12 Retreat, the students spent time looking at service, hospitality and justice with presentations from Ballarat outreach organisations. From these sessions, each Year 12 Student Advocate group was motivated to develop a social justice Community in Action project.

Mrs Bell’s Student Advocate group volunteered at Kangaroo Flat Rotary Free Community Meals Program.

Mrs Powell’s Student Advocate group ran a ‘Menstrual Monday’ donation drive to McAuley Services to assist homeless women.

Mr Waterman’s Student Advocate group were R U OK? Day leaders on Thursday 8 September. They greeted students at the start of the school day with music, smiles and a ‘touch of yellow’, reminding them that every day is a day to ask ‘are you OK?’ and start a meaningful conversation with someone you notice might be struggling with life.

Mrs Miletic and Mr Wild’s groups combined their social justice and community partnership projects to have students make meals for Foodshare.
