Year 12 Final Day Assembly

01/11/2019

The sun shone on the final day for the Year 12 Class of 2019. Students and staff shared an outdoor breakfast, full of camaraderie, conversation and contemplation of their school days, friendship and the future.

The whole school assembled for the Year 12s’ final assembly. They were applauded enthusiastically as they walked into assembly and again when they left, showing the respect the Class of 2019 has in the community. There were plenty of emotional moments but overall it was an occasion of joy and celebration.

As Brian Turner writes in his Principal’s Update, “The speeches by the College Captains and Leaders were a fitting representation of the Year 12 as a cohort. Their carriage as role models through the past weeks has been a credit to all of them. There is such a strong bond across the various friendship groups, which was reflected in how much they enjoyed their last day and week together before the exams.”

Other highlights of the assembly were the student leadership handover, from the 2019 to the 2020 Year 12 Captains and also the announcement of the House Cup winner, MacKillop House.

We look forward to gathering again for the Graduation Mass and Celebration on 21 November. We wish all our Year 12s every success in the next few weeks, as well as the years ahead – don’t be strangers!
