Year 11 Incursion Day encourages new perspectives and insights

08/03/2023

A rich day of exploration for Year 11 students encompassed topics as diverse as relationship building, study skills, and gaining an understanding of the First Nations Perspective into Leadership.

The Incursion was held on Friday 3 March 2023 at St Mary’s. Students worked with Year Level Learning Leaders and Student Advocates to pave the way for a great year ahead.

The day began with an acknowledgement of country, prayer and a welcome by Mr Brian Turner, Principal.

The students experienced an engaging indigenous smoking ceremony (Mr Troy Firebrace), a personal story of leadership and vulnerability (Mr Jye Warren), a session on wellbeing and how to thrive (Mrs Alana Burke) and a practical session on study skills (Mrs Sharon Wallace).

Everyone shared a delicious morning tea and lunch together, having fun and building connections with fellow students and staff. A Liturgy led by Mr Michael Goss (Director of Faith and Mission) was a fitting end to the busy day.
