Year 10 students selected for the Monash Scholars Program 2025- 2027
28/07/2025I am very pleased to announce that the following Year 10 students from Catherine McAuley College Bendigo have been offered a place in the Monash Scholars Class of 2025–2027: Ruby Bath, William Brew and Maggie Lamb.
Monash Scholars is a prestigious program for high achieving secondary school students. The program is offered by Monash University to give potential students a unique head start into university life. It will provide opportunities for personal and academic development, give students the knowledge, skills and confidence to make the right study choices and enable them to build a network of peers, academic, and employment contacts. Congratulations Ruby, William and Maggie on your achievement.
Mrs Gina Giblin, Assistant Principal Learning and Teaching
“I look forward to meeting new people and learning more about future careers at Monash. I am so excited to have this opportunity to hear new ideas on my passion of studying medicine when I’m older and helping sick kids with cancer.” (Ruby)
“The Monash Scholars Program offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into university life, engaging with fellow Year 10 scholars from all around the state. This program allows me to support my academic and personal development and provides valuable exposure to potential future studies at Monash University.” (William )
“I’m really excited to be a part of the Monash Scholars 2025 to 2027 cohort. The program offers an insight to university life, an opportunity to connect with like-minded peers from across Victoria, and to learn from Monash University staff and past scholars. We recently had our first in-person, Year 10 team-building event, where it was amazing to visit Monash Clayton. We heard from current first-year university students and were able to chat with them about their experiences including double degrees and the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT), which was really interesting. The program provides opportunities to learn study skills to assist with my final years at secondary school and the transition to university. Discovering all the various pathways at Monash and careers available will be valuable and I’m really looking forward to broadening my network with the program.” (Maggie)
