Welcome to St Mary’s 2019

07/02/2019

A warm Mercy welcome to students and their families, both new and returning to St Mary’s for 2019. It has been great to get back into the swing of things and it has taken no time for the students to find their feet and routines. This start reflects the positive end to 2018 with the successful Headstart program.

Whilst mentioning 2018, it is important to acknowledge the over 90% of the 2018 graduating class who applied for university have received either first or second round offers and large number of students who have gained apprenticeships over the Christmas period. We congratulate them and look forward to seeing them succeed as they enter life post-secondary school. For more details on the Class of 2018 Pathways please follow this link.

It’s been exciting to return to much progress being made on the upgrades to the Kelly Building. The development of dedicated Allied Health and commercial grade hospitality teaching spaces will have a great impact on the pathway options for our students and I know the students are particularly keen to see the new canteen and associated dining areas.

We look forward to a big year of Living Mercy and being successful learners in our chosen fields, we know that working with our students and their families closely only supports this, so please ensure you contact your child’s Mentor or classroom teacher if there is anything you wish to discuss.
