VET students gain valuable insights into small business and animation

On Thursday 7 June, the VET Small Business Operations/Innovations class were fortunate to have a special guest join them for the morning.

Bendigo business owner, Andrew Pascoe from AP Productions shared with the class about how he came to start up his own business, the challenges he faces juggling many balls across a range of service offerings (training resources, television advertisements, social media videosetc.) and meeting often tight client deadlines.

Andrew then ran a workshop for three students interested in a career in animation, providing valuable insights into the skills required, relevant software and career advice. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the session and this is reflected in the following comments:

“Andrew was straight forward, interesting and easy to listen to. He spoke about his pathways and gave us some great advice about the industry. I also learnt a lot about animation and art styles.” Callum

“The session with Andrew was an insightful one. He taught us some tips and showed us some tricks on how to start and run an animation business.” Bok

Sincere thanks to Andrew for giving up his time to work with our class and for the inspiration you provided to our future animators!
