13/09/2023

Students studying VCE Environmental Science have had a productive term, participating in engaging class activities to enhance their understanding of the interactions and interconnectedness between people and their environments.

In Unit 2, students examined different pollutants and explored the available options for managing and mitigating pollution. Hands-on activities such as a simulated oil spill cleanup and the observation of brine shrimp eggs’ hatching under varying environmental conditions were carried out. Additionally, students had the opportunity to experience a recycling incursion with the City of Greater Bendigo and visited the Eaglehawk transfer station and landfill.

In Unit 4, students investigated energy-efficient housing materials in order to identify the most suitable options for sustainable housing designs.
