‘Unified’ – Student Writing

This poem is a recent piece of writing by Year 9 student Daisy Perley. She hopes to take it further by turning it into a book and illustrating it herself.

Unified

Sometimes I feel like I’m out of place.
Like I’m floating in another universe, lost in space.
And it’s only when I look back and see how far I’ve come,
That I realise that I’m not the only one.
There are others like me, if only I’d see,
We are not so different you and me.
As the stars wink out in the sky,
Banded together where we lie, we will rise as one
And together march into the golden light of the sun.
