Unforgettable Dreamtime Expo Day 2025
27/05/2025Fifteen of Catherine McAuley College Bendigo students headed down to Melbourne to watch the Richmond Football Club (RFC) train at Punt Road Oval, meet the players, grab autographs, and snap photos with their favourite Tigers.
The RFC Korin Gamadji Institute (KGI) hosted this unforgettable Dreamtime Expo Day – a celebration of culture, connection, and leadership for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from across Victoria.
One of the highlights was hearing from Maurice Rioli Jr, who shared his personal journey, the importance of cultural pride, and the legacy he carries through his family and football.
Students also learned the powerful story behind this year’s Dreamtime Round Indigenous guernsey for Richmond Football Club designed by Rhyan Mansell, his father Brett, and his grandfather Clyde Mansell.
The day also paid tribute to Sir Doug Nicholls, a true trailblazer and legend. As an elite athlete, pastor, activist, and the first Indigenous Australian to be knighted and serve as a state governor, Sir Doug’s legacy continues to inspire generations to lead with courage, pride, and compassion.
This was more than an event – it was a celebration of Indigenous excellence, a spark for future leaders, and a reminder that Culture is strong, stories matter, and the future is bright.
