Subject Selection for 2023

20/07/2022

This information has been updated in light of recent increases in community transmission of COVID-19.

To support the safety of our community and minimise people gathering in small spaces, we have made some changes to the Subject Selection Evening to be held on Monday 25 July. The previously advertised compulsory information sessions will now be recorded and placed on our Subject Course Guide website.

The subject selection process is significant in the lives of our students. It is often seen as an exciting time when students can make choices based on their interests and future pathways. It can also be a challenging time, with students requiring support to work through the range of options open to them.

Subject Selection Information Evening

The evening will feature Subject displays and the opportunity to talk to teachers and Learning Leaders across these subjects for students in Years 9 to 12, 2023. Further information can be found on the Subject Course Guide website.

Attendance at the evening is recommended to our current Year 9 and 10 families, but is not compulsory.

Monday 25 July, 6 – 8.00pm, Marian Centre, St Mary’s Campus

  • Current Coolock students – especially Year 9 students are encouraged to attend from 6 – 7pm
  • Current St Mary’s students – especially Year 10 students are encouraged to attend from 7 – 8pm

All in attendance will be strongly encouraged to wear a face mask.

Early in Term 3, students have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the subject selection process. There will be information sessions at year-level assemblies and in class visits during the first weeks of Term 3, particularly for our Year 9 classes to support them with the transition to Year 10.

We also have videos, photos and course information on our website. We encourage you to explore the CMC Subject Course Guide website via the link below.
