Mixed Netball Champion Will Whiteacre

08/06/2022

William Whiteacre (Year 8) enjoyed a dream run playing netball in the Australian Men’s & Mixed Netball Championships in Adelaide last April, as a member of the Victorian Men’s 17 & Under team.

The week-long competition saw plenty of fast-paced action and a high calibre of competition. Will, who plays both Wing Attack and Goal Attack, enjoyed the incredible opportunity to play against teams from across Australia.

The Victorian 17 & Under team went through the tournament undefeated, winning each game by twenty or more goals. The team took on South Australia in an exciting and toughly contested Grand Final and won 60-43.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Will was named as a training partner in the Australian 17 & Under Men’s team.

Will started playing mixed netball at St Joseph’s Primary School from Grade 3 and his netball journey has seen him represent the school before going on to play for South Bendigo FNC and train with the AFL Central Victorian Junior Academy in the Netball Program. He has also been a junior umpire at the Golden City Netball Association.

Congratulations Will, and good luck with your netball dreams.
