Joint effort provides hundreds of meals to Bendigo Foodshare for the local community

04/06/2025

In Food Technology classes over the past few weeks at Coolock, Mrs Jan’s Year 7 and Year 9 classes and Mrs Winfield’s Year 8 classes have made a total of 221 serves of Chilli Con Carne. At St Mary’s, Ms Watts’ Year 10 Hospitality class is doing a 6-week soup program, which involves making a different soup each week. All these meals have gone to Bendigo Foodshare so that they can be distributed to those in need in our Bendigo community.

A massive thank you to all the students who participated in the cooking for Bendigo Foodshare, and a huge thank you the staff who participated and worked behind the scenes to get this initiative up and running.

All meals made will benefit someone’s life in our local community and respond to the commandment “Love your neighbour” (Mark 12:31), by serving those in our local community with a meal.
