CMC vs Frankston High School

On Friday 16 November, the Intermediate Boys Cricket Team played in the State Semi Final against Frankston HS, at Macleay Park, North Balwyn. We won the toss and elected to bat first. Our run chase began with a 28-run opening partnership from James Barri (19) and Matthew Wilkinson (38). Wilkinson was supported by Abe Sheahan (18) as we made 2/56 after 10 overs. We lost 3/1 in the 16th over before some power hitting from Sam Conforti (15) guided us to a score of 8/98 from our 20 overs. Some early boundaries helped set up Frankston’s run chase however after 10 overs we had managed to hold them to 1/57. Late wickets to Cooper Smith (1/12), Abe Sheahan (1/17) and Jack Keating (1/18) helped to restrict the run rate but their top order had set them up and they chased down our total in the 16th over, winning the match by 7 wickets.
