Gold and silver for sensational swimmers

Congratulations to our swimmers on their sensational efforts in April at the School Sport Victoria State  Swimming Championships at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

Layla Day won four gold medals, making her the State Champion in the Open 100m Freestyle, 16yr 50m Freestyle, Open 100m Backstroke and 16yr 50m Backstroke events. She also won silver in the 16yr 50m Butterfly.

Varlee Nihill finished fourth in the Open 200m Freestyle and 100m Breastroke and sixth in the 16yr  Breaststroke. Aimee McMahon finished fifth in the 15yr 50m Breaststroke.

Our Relay Team comprising Layla Day, Varlee Nihill, Aimee McMahon and Arkie Donnelly won silver in both the 16yr 4 x 50m Medley Relay as well as the 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay.

In the final rankings, CMC finished tenth out of 123 participating schools.
