SCHOOL SPORT VICTORIA – LODDON MALLEE REGIONAL

GIRLS NETBALL

On Thursday 20 July, girls from Catherine McAuley College participated in the SSV Loddon Mallee Region Netball Finals at the Golden City Courts in West Bendigo.

Year 7 Girls

The Year 7 Girls displayed exceptional talent and teamwork, winning all four games comfortably and securing their spot in the State Finals set for September.

Their coordinated gameplay, relentless defence, and accurate shooting were evident throughout the matches, impressing both supporters and coaching staff. With this remarkable performance, the team’s dedication and hard work were rewarded, and they now eagerly anticipate the State Finals, where they will undoubtedly represent CMC with pride and determination. Well done girls.

Year 8 Girls

The Year Girls were looking forward to seeing how they would go against schools from other towns, especially getting to play longer games of 4x10mins.

Games results for the day were:

CMC vs St Joseph’s College Mildura (39-7). A strong game where we established a quick lead and were able to get all 11 players on court.

CMC vs Maryborough Education Centre. After establishing a 16-1 lead at quarter time, we again rotated all 11 players in the game, with strong contributions from all.

We then played the Grand Final against the leading team from Pool B which was St Mary MacKillop College Swan Hill. After a nervous start, with some significant weather changes and even rain, we came away with a comfortable win.

We now progress to the SSV State Finals to be held on Friday 1 September in Melbourne.

Everyone in the team represented the College with pride and amazing sportsmanship throughout the day. Congratulations team and we look forward to the finals.
