Fruit Fly Trap Recipe

30/10/2018

Are you worried about fruit flies ruining your fruits and veggies this summer? Queensland fruit fly (QFF) attacks a wide range of fruit and fruiting vegetable, leaving them inedible. QFF have been active in the Bendigo area since 2017 and generally increase in activity as the weather gets warmer. Trapping is recommended by Agriculture Victoria as a way to monitor and reduce QFF numbers. The Year 9 Agriculture students recently spent the afternoon preparing fruit fly traps to hang around the Trade Training Centre to protect our crops! If you want to try this too, here is the ‘recipe’.
