Environmental Science Excursion to Phillip Island

Investigating sustainable developments was the focus for Unit 3 Environmental Science students recent visit to Phillip Island. The excursion took them to San Remo, the Penguin Parade, the Koala Conservation Centre and the Nobbies. Highlights of the trip included close encounters with Little Penguins at night and the discovery of evidence indicating the presence of Eastern Barred Bandicoots.

Ranger Graeme Burgan shared insights into the management strategies of Phillip Island Nature Parks and the ecological significance of the Summerland Peninsula. Additionally, the students visited the Cowes Wastewater Treatment Plant, expanding their knowledge of sustainable practices.
