‘Defying the Drift’ Agriculture Scholarship

Sophie Lethlean attended Defying the Drift, at Longerong College near Horsham over the September holidays.

Sophie has always had a passion for Agriculture, so she took advantage of an opportunity to apply for a scholarship. This program is run by Rotary clubs all over Victoria. Defying the Drift is about young people not drifting away from Agriculture.

Sophie gained lots of skills and experiences in the Agricultural field, while building on her network of friends.
“We looked at using technology on farms and the different sectors of Agriculture, such as Agronomy and Botany. Technology makes farming a lot easier and safer, rather than doing it manually.”
