Cross Country resounding success

SCHOOL SPORT VICTORIA – SANDHURST DIVISION

Cross Country

The Sandhurst Cross Country event took place at Sebastian on Friday 12 May under perfect sunny conditions. Thirty students from Catherine McAuley College participated in the event, demonstrating enthusiasm, and giving their best efforts. The 16-and-over males completed a 4.5km course whilst the younger males and females ran a 3.1km course. The students displayed some outstanding individual and team performances, resulting in some excellent outcomes.

The following students deserve congratulations for their terrific achievements, finishing in the top three positions in their respective age groups:

Kate Hutchinson: 1st place
Genevieve Nihill: 1st place
Imogen Brown: 2nd place
Grace Mulqueen: 2nd place
Zara Mould: 3rd place

In addition, the 13-year-old girls’ team secured first place in the Team event. The 14-year-old girls’ team and the open girls’ team both finished in second place while the 13-year-old boys’ team, 16-year-old boys’ team, and open boys’ teams achieved third position.

A total of twenty-seven students will progress to the Regional Final, which is scheduled to take place in St Arnaud on 6 June.

The Sandhurst Cross Country event was a resounding success for CMC with the school finishing in third position overall. Best wishes to the students as they prepare for the upcoming Regional Final.
