Welcome back Kathy Sawchuk

As you are aware, Mrs Kathy Sawchuk has been working with staff and students at the College over the past 18 months. Kathy has returned at the start of this term to continue her work with us and we are always richer for the experience. We have been working on consistently outlining our Learning Intentions (what learning will be happening today?) and Success Criteria (how will I know if I am meeting the learning intentions? I can…). Kathy has challenged all of us (students and teachers) to be able to answer the following three questions in any lesson:

  • What am I learning (not doing) today:
  • How am I doing… what is the evidence of this?
  • What/where to next in my learning?

We look forward to the ongoing work of staff and students in this space, most significantly, the capacity of our students to be able to answer the questions above. This will display great ownership of their learning.

Year 9 Outdoor Education Experience

Our Year 9 students left bright and early on Monday morning to embark on their week-long Outdoor Experience journey. Sixteen small groups headed off to four different locations (Hattah, Lake Eildon, The Goulburn River and The Murray River) where they were dropped at a point and required to make their way to a final destination point before being picked up on Friday afternoon. The students experienced hiking, cooking, camping out, and travelling in canoes or sea kayaks as part of their experience. The focus areas for this trip were teamwork, leadership and service and we look forward to hearing from our Year 9 students about these upon their return. Thanks to the staff who have joined our students for this great experience, and to our families for your support of this special activity.

Anzac Service

Congratulations to all students involved in leading our ANZAC service on Tuesday. The moving service paid tribute to those who have served for our Country and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Parent Student Teacher Interviews

We look forward to seeing families at our upcoming interviews. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet and discuss students’ progress and learning goals.
