CMC gets active during Mental Health Week

19/09/2023

St Mary’s promoted Mental Health Week, including R U OK Day during the last week of Term 3. This included a range of activities and promotions that focused on the five ways to wellbeing; Connect, Be Active, Keep Learning, Be Aware and Help Others.

Connect

Staff and students were encouraged to bring their lunch and picnic rug to the lawn at St Michael’s and enjoy relaxing with music, shared time and fun activities. Fresh fruit was also available. This was a great opportunity to connect with students and colleagues, to smile and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Be Active

Pickleball tournaments were held throughout the week with everyone encouraged to join in. The annual Staff vs Student netball match was once again held in the Marian Gym at St Mary’s and attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters. All players gave everything to the match and the students emerged victorious for the first time in a number of years.

RU OK Day

On Thursday 14 September, Australia held a National Day of Action to highlight the importance of meaningful conversations with friends, family and colleagues. Students took part in activities to encourage them to ask the question – R U OK? Staff at both Coolock and St Mary’s enjoyed a shared chocolate morning tea.
