Business Management visit to Bendigo Bank

25/06/2018

VCE Business Management students had a fantastic opportunity to link course theory to the real-life practices of a public-listed company, right here in their home town!

During the week commencing 28 May, three VCE Unit 3/4 Business Management classes attended an excursion to the Bendigo Bank. Students enjoyed an extensive presentation covering the operations of the bank which the presenter (and past student), Suzi Mildern, prepared specifically to align with the VCE course. This included highlighting the various inputs, processes and outputs of the Bank, an overview of the operations strategies and the corporate social responsibility programs implemented by Bendigo Bank.

Students were then treated to a tour of the 5-star energy rated building by National Facilities Manager George De Moel, who not only has a great sense of humour, but also a vast knowledge of the bank and its operations.

The students found the Bank building and facilities very impressive and they particularly enjoyed sitting in the armchairs at the Boardroom table and experiencing the amazing views of Bendigo!

On behalf of the Business Management Team (Philip Jan, Georgina McKee and me), a very sincere thank you to school parent and incoming Bendigo Bank Managing Director, Marnie Baker for facilitating the visits and George De Moel and Suzi Mildern for their efforts in making such a valuable contribution to the students learning. Thank you also to Richard Baker who assisted in providing valuable learning resources for our class.
