Blue-tongue babies

05/03/2020

Animal Studies students are thrilled to announce the arrival of three Eastern Blue-tongue babies. These babies were born on 19 February 2020 and are the first litter from Trade Training Centre residents Trish and Stephan.

Eastern Blue-tongue lizards give birth to live young that are totally independent from birth. We have removed the young from their parents to provide additional care, including daily feeding, handling and checks.

Eastern Blue-tongue lizards feed on a wide variety of foods and in captivity enjoy a mix of fresh mince, veggies, fruits and commercial dog food. We look forward to monitoring their growth over the next few months as part of our animal studies classes.
