And That’s a Wrap for ‘Joseph’

27/06/2023

We are thrilled to announce that the College Production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was a huge success! The young performers gave it their all, and the audience was blown away by the incredible talent on display. The crew worked together to coordinate the smooth running of the show; from operating follow spots, showing audience members to their seats, moving sets on and off stage to keeping track of the props.

It’s not just about putting on a great show – there are so many benefits to getting involved in the performing arts. It helps teach our students discipline, teamwork, and creativity and helps young people build confidence and self-esteem. Plus, it’s a lot of fun!

On behalf of the College, we extend our heartfelt thanks to:

  • All the students from Years 7 to 12 who were part of this year’s production, from being involved in the cast, crew, orchestra or the senior student production team. Your contribution to the show made it a huge success and terrific fun for all.
  • Parents and carers who brought students to rehearsals throughout the last two terms: during the week, on weekends, and to the theatre during production week. Your support in this project allows us to be able to offer such wonderful opportunities to our students, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity.
  • Past student Ian Scott of ISLX for the lighting and projection design of the show.
  • Anita Scott of Scott’s Mascots and Costumes for the wonderful costumes.
  • Other alumni who returned to support this year’s production with their skills and knowledge: Leroy Miller of Bundadhaany Studios, Kiara Clarke, Jemma Munro, Sam Angove, Chelsea Furlong, Claudia Scott, and Daniel Soncin.
  • Our invited artists Catherine Moore, Karin Van Poppel, Eliza McKenna, and Adam Bourke, thank you for lending your expertise and talent to our amazing orchestra.
  • CMC staff who assisted on the performance nights, in the production team and in the orchestra, Jessica Akl, Kris Fellows, Erin Varker, Kate Verbeek, Felicity Johnson, Meg Martin, Ashleigh Yeates, Mark Thompson, Paul Hunt, Jeremie Collard, Anthony Chalkley and Sarah Gross.
  • BLOC Music Theatre, Prop-A-Ganda Props & Wardrobe and Bendigo Theatre Company for the hire of props and set pieces.
  • CMC Maintenance Team for assisting our team by picking up set pieces and assisting with our bump in and out of sets and props.

This support and combined efforts of so many in our performing arts community has made this project a huge success.

Lastly, thank you and congratulations to our director and choreographer, Austin Deppeler and our musical director, Deborah Ross, whose hard work and dedication working and coordinating all the students, staff, alumni and invited artists produced an amazing show for our audiences to enjoy.
