An Evening with Catherine

16/05/2019

The first Evening with Catherine was a joyful occasion which provided the opportunity to gather and celebrate the story of Catherine McAuley and the Mercy Sisters and to reflect on how this story is part of our own lives each day.

We were blessed to have a gathering of Sisters of Mercy, staff and members of the wider community in the St Mary’s library. The scene for the evening began with “a comfortable cup of tea” and a snack, allowing people to gather and chat.

Sr Karon Donnellon facilitated the evening, joined by staff member Lisa Darlow who played the role of Catherine with a beautiful spirit and the Irish accent to match. We were able to listen and learn about Catherine through the storytelling, followed by time to share and listen to the stories of others in small groups.

Special thanks to Sr Karon and Lisa for sharing their knowledge and talents; we are fortunate to have had this opportunity to share, listen and learn as a Mercy community.
