Inter Girls Take Vic Schools Title
15/09/2025VICTORIAN SCHOOLS NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Intermediate Girls
On Wednesday 10 September, our CMCB Intermediate Netball team returned to the court once again, with one goal in mind: to complete a clean sweep of three tournament wins in just ten days. And true to form, this exceptional team delivered!
From the very first whistle of Game 1, the girls executed their game plan with precision and confidence, dominating their pool matches to record impressive victories over:
- Loreto College, Ballarat – 18–8
- Sacré Cœur – 13–10
- Luther College – 16–8
- Mount Lilydale Mercy College – 16–4
These results secured them a semi-final showdown against St Joseph’s College Echuca.
In the semi-final, the team played beautifully and built a comfortable lead by halftime, allowing for several strategic rotations. While the second half became a tense and frantic affair, the girls held their nerve and edged out Echuca with a thrilling one-goal victory, 13–12, to book their place in the Grand Final.
The Grand Final, against Williamstown High School, was a different story altogether. With unwavering self-belief and composure, the team settled quickly and took control from the outset. Their outstanding teamwork and determination powered them to a commanding 18-8 win, sealing their second State Title in just three days. This extraordinary achievement came only a week after claiming victory in the Schools in Action National Netball Challenge in Adelaide.
Congratulations to this incredible team for representing CMCB with such skill, pride, and sportsmanship in every match. We couldn’t be prouder!
A huge thank you to all the family and friends who supported this team throughout, and also to Mrs Maree Pearce for her management and organisation.
