Welcome to Term 2 of your child’s journey at Catherine McAuley College Bendigo. Where did Term 1 go?

TERM 1

Highlights and achievements from Term 1 included:

• Opening Mass and liturgies
• Sports Days
• Caritas Ks Big Walk
• Year 7 Camp
• Election of Year 7 Student Leaders

ASSEMBIES

At each Year 7 assembly, we aim to:

• pause and reflect through acknowledging country, engaging in prayer and promoting discussion around a Mercy value
• build capacity in students in the ways they can Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Kind
• tune students into campus and college-based initiatives;
• celebrate student achievement.

This week we introduced the Recognition of Achievement Awards, which complement our student learning showcase (subject-based reports on class activities) and celebration of student commendations.

The first students to receive these awards have demonstrated excellence in their academic learning and personal effort throughout Term 1.

We congratulate Darby Lamb, Declan Winfield, Ava Giblin, Evie Ludeman and Mabel Hogan. (Evie was unfortunately absent for the photo.)

Issac Hunter capably gave a recap of making tapas in Food Tech, reading a short summary of what takes place in the kitchen. Mrs Jan and Mrs Winfield have done an excellent job celebrating this learning in the gallery below.

We will continue to celebrate and share the learning in Year 7 in all of its forms, as the term progresses!
