A fitting end to a successful first semester of Year 7

Congratulations to all students on completing the first-half of their Year 7 journey. We wish you all a very restful winter break and encourage you to reflect on what you have learnt from this first semester.

We also recommend that parents and carers read through all reports and learning assessment feedback and discuss this with your child, both celebrating the successes and considering the advice for improvement.

Year 7 Encounter Day

Our recent Year 7 Encounter Day, conducted on Tuesday 17 June was a great learning experience for all students and staff involved. The day offered an opportunity for students to learn about the importance of being an “upstander” instead of a “bystander” and to begin to explore what key values will shape their personal identity.

One of the activities on the day involved students designing their own tile, incorporating an image and message related to our Mercy Values and the College motto, ‘Living Mercy’, ultimately a culmination of their learnings from the day. Each of the tiles have now been adhered to crosses, some of which are now displayed in the entrance of the Sister Aloysius Martyn Arts Centre and will be on display throughout other areas of the College.

Year 7 Humanities

In Humanities, students have been studying Ancient History.
