House Athletics Carnival 2025
30/04/2025The Catherine McAuley College Bendigo Annual Athletics Carnival was held at the Bendigo Athletics Track on Monday 28 April. We were fortunate to enjoy good weather, despite the event taking place in Term 2 this year.
There was a buzz of excitement as students and staff arrived at the track, with students eager to contribute to their house’s overall points by participating in events. Every time a student took part in an event, a point was awarded to their house. This encouraged all students to get involved with friends, enjoy a wide variety of events and, in some cases, challenge themselves to try something new.
The carnival kicked off with our St Mary’s students setting the tone for the Coolock students, by recording some excellent times on the track. They also had some impressive results in the field events, demonstrating skill and determination across multiple disciplines.
The relays were a highlight of the day, with our house captains doing a fantastic job of organising their teams and ensuring each house was represented in every division.
Despite a tight schedule to ensure buses departed on time, results were tallied and announced at the conclusion of what was a successful and enjoyable carnival.
Congratulations to McAuley House for winning the Overall Championship trophy.
We also announced our individual age champion results. All winners demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and successfully competed in multiple events throughout the day.
