Open Evening draws a huge crowd

16/03/2018

There was a wonderful sense of community and enquiry at our recent Open Evening. Thank you to all those who came along to learn all about us and discover all the exciting opportunities we offer.

The student guides were outstanding, showing our guests around the College, answering questions and sharing their knowledge of school life. Our staff were constantly engaged in deep conversation about learning, pathways, activities and community at Catherine McAuley College.

Regular tours of the new building were extremely popular, with the creative arts centre and flexible learning spaces well underway and showing the exciting possibilities for student learning into the future.

McAuley Square was the hub for activities, with people enjoying all the information stalls and sharing a meal. Our popular Agriculture program drew a crowd and the non-stop open stage entertainment included a preview of the Year 9 musical – Seussical.

Many of our young visitors took up the challenge to visit at least ten areas and fill in their Passport to Learning. They may have come for a stamp, but they stayed and got involved in the hands-on activities.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the evening’s success. There are further opportunities to visit in the near future – Principal’s Tours (27 March & 24 April) and Transition Day for current Grade 6 students on Friday 4 May. Enrolments for Year 7, 2019 close on Friday 1 June.
