In the spirit of Mercy, we gather today in this place to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Dja Dja Wurrung and their Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge and respect that the land we live, learn and play on is traditionally owned by the Djaara People of the Kulin Nation. We thank them for their continuing care of the land, flowers, animals, trees, mountains and waterways. Together, we seek to learn more about Djaara cultures and histories, walking beside first nations peoples towards reconciliation.
As a Mercy Community we are committed to building close bonds with the Djaara people and to continue to learn and support the stewardship and legacy of their culture and country. We pay our respects to the elders past, present and emerging.
